One thing that can add to mom’s frazzled look is actually being stressed and frazzled. Here are six tips to help reduce that stress and keep you in control.
- Use a planner or calendar to keep track of things to do, calls to make, places to go. It doesn’t have to have everything and the kitchen sink, in fact if you are new to keeping a planner the more simple the better. Cross of things as you do them.
- Plan your day. As much as you can, with children in tow, have a plan for your day and put in print. Write it down or print it off your computer. Leave wiggle room for emergencies, unplanned things etc. but do have a plan for your day.
- Don’t be afraid to say no. It’s okay mom. Be selective about what you choose to do and don’t over schedule yourself. It’s okay to stay home and rest with the kiddos.
- Learn how to cook for the freezer. Cook meals in batches and freeze the extra for future meals. Yay! Saves time.
- If you have a big job ahead of your break it down into bite sized pieces. A little at a time is much more doable. When I have a hard time fitting a project into my schedule I like to work in 15 minute increments a day until I’m done with a project.
- Don’t be afraid to delegate. Have small children? Start teaching them now how to help you in the home. It might seem to take a long time but as they get older they will be a big help to you.
