Looking Pulled Together Even When You Don’t Feel So
It’s chronic for moms. Having to look like you have it together when you are suffering from lack of sleep, maybe a cold or two and just being frazzled after taking care of little ones.
Here are a few tips to keep you looking like you don’t feel, your best.
Tip #1 - Start with your hair. You hair can make or break you. Find a simple, easy hairstyle that looks good. Longer hair can opt for a ponytail. Use some hair cream to keep fly aways down and use a nice clip so it looks like you thought about it.
Tip #2 - Have a together uniform. An outfit that fits you well and always looks good. It can be either pants or a skirt set. In your best colors. Simple to put on and simple to care for. Example my uniform is black casual slacks with a bright colored cotton blend pullover sweater. It washes and wears well. No ironing needed.
Tip #3 - Simple jewelry that makes you look fabulous. Many women look great with simple dangly earrings. Not overly bulky but they dangle nevertheless. A glitter piece for your arms. A watch or a bracelet that looks good and goes with your together uniform.
Tip#4 - Simple simple makeup for those days that you must rush. I’m not a big makeup wearer but if I must look nice on short notice it’s tinted moisturizer, mascara, lip gloss. Simple things that make big differences. In the meantime I try and take care of my extremely sensitive, allergic skin so I don’t need much makeup. Still working on that.
Tip#5 - Shoes. Shoes can really make an outfit. Be sure NOT to put on shabby shoes. Heels may not be the best if you’re not feeling fully awake or together but some great flats can work. I know women who really spend on shoes rather than the rest of their clothes because shoes can really make or break your look. And take good care of what you have. You don’t have to go out and buy new ones. Have a shoe peddler touch-up your favorite pair. New heel, polish, scuff repair. I have wide feet and this is what I do.
Write down your last minute together look. Chances are when it is really last minute you won’t remember a thing.
